Elvans Road & Washington View Condos

ERCDC works in Ward 8 through a neighborhood by neighborhood strategy. Prior to renovation or new construction projects, ERCDC takes its direction from the community. ERCDC's real estate development projects have been the direct result of engaging the community in which the community indicated priorities for their neighborhood. The real estate development component is the vehicle by which ERCDC responds to the brick and mortar priorities designated through ERCDC's community building activities.

Elvans Road: In 1997, ERCDC developed and sold four single-family homes in the Washington View Neighborhood. This project represented the first new construction in the area in 15 years and it was a catalyst for other single-family developments in the Ward 8 community. The homes were sold to first-time home buyers.



Washington View Condos: With community partners, ERCDC coordinated the collaboration of a 5-year plan for the Washington View area. ERCDC is sponsoring the implementation of one aspect of that plan - the Washington View Condominiums. The members of the collaborative determined to reduce the density of the area and create opportunities for home ownership. Some buildings were demolished and others were renovated and retained as rental units. ERCDC is the sponsor for the renovation of 77 units that will be sold as condominiums.
