Linda V. Jackson, President/Executive Director

Linda joined East of the River CDC (ERCDC) as President/Executive Director in February 2006. Prior to joining ERCDC, Ms. Jackson served as Project Manager for William C. Smith & Co. in the development and rehabilitation of low income multi-family housing for Ward 8. In her position with Smith Co. she also served as Community & Government Liaison, working to heighten community awareness of the development and construction projects underway, enhance Ward 8 LSDBE participation and ensure that participation was maximized in all development activities across the board.

Linda served as Executive Director of the non-profit Building Bridges Across the River, Inc., raising $26 million for the design, development and construction of the Town Hall Education, Arts & Recreation Campus (THEARC), a 110,000 square foot, state of the art Performing Arts Center located in Ward 8 on Mississippi Avenue, SE. In addition to serving as Executive Director, Ms. Jackson acted as Project Manager during the first phase of construction. This unique project has been cited as a national model and appears on the University of Michigan website to demonstrate the power and importance of private / public partnerships.

Ms. Jackson brings to ERCDC over 20 years commercial property management, asset management and community development experience. Ms. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology & Urban Studies from Aquinas College and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Maryland. Linda celebrates the performing arts; she is an avid listener of classical and modern jazz and relishes good literature in all forms.
