ERCDC fulfills its mission by developing programs that target the ward's 60,926 residents and 251 businesses through the implementation of a strong grassroots strategy. This strategy focuses on increasing affordable housing, attracting new business development opportunities, developing education/training programs and creating and retaining jobs in the community.

ERCDC seeks to accomplish its objectives by:

  • Positioning residents to influence the direction of development through advocacy, leadership and education about the planning process.
  • Increasing resident stability and building community wealth through knowledge management, workforce development, leadership development and real estate development.
  • Establishing strategic partnerships with companies, universities, banks and organizations to bring knowledge and a variety of resources to the community
  • Creating effective programs based on community priorities and needs
