Philosophy

ERCDC fulfills its mission by developing programs that target the ward's 60,926 residents and 251 businesses through the implementation of a strong grassroots strategy. This strategy focuses on increasing affordable housing, attracting new business development opportunities, developing education/training programs and creating and retaining jobs in the community.

ERCDC seeks to accomplish its objectives by:

Positioning residents to influence the direction of development through advocacy, leadership and education about the planning process.
Increasing resident stability and building community wealth through knowledge management, workforce development, leadership development and real estate development.
Establishing strategic partnerships with companies, universities, banks and organizations to bring knowledge and a variety of resources to the community
Creating effective programs based on community priorities and needs
